Richmond Mercantile Limited F.Z.C. specializes in international trade. One of its core activities is trading in petroleum products, such as Bitumen (drummed and bulk) and Fuel Oil.

With offices in the U.A.E., China, U.K., Iran and Singapore, and associates in India, and East Africa, Richmond has a powerful network of professionals with in depth knowledge of the markets.

Richmond is the largest seller of Drummed bitumen from Iran to China, and also supplies to different destinations in West & East Africa, India, Sri Lanka and Myanmar.

The Company ensures the quality of the packed bitumen by overseeing the entire process of procurement and supply, from the supply of steel to the manufacturing and filling of the drums, to the eventual loading of vessels. The company has the capability of manufacturing upto 250,000 MT per annum of drummed bitumen in Iran, Egypt and Saudi Arabia thereby ensuring prompt delivery of high quality drummed bitumen.

Richmond regularly ships parcels of 10,000 - 15,000 MT of drummed bitumen to quality conscious customers in South East Asia, Africa and the Far East.

Economies of scale, and the efficient network established by Richmond, ensure that the company's customers get competitive prices and prompt delivery of high quality drummed bitumen. The Company's customers include oil majors and major road construction and provincial organisations in China, and World Bank financed contractors in India and Afganistan.

Richmond pioneered the use of containers for the shipment of drummed bitumen from Iran, thereby ensuring safe and efficient transportation of drums directly to end user's site.

Bitumen in Polyethylene Bags

Richmond have developed special purpose machinery for packing in polybags and have developed polybags, which melts at 140ºC. These polybags have been tested in Austria. This ensures that bitumen in polybags can be used safely in asphalt mix plants directly. The commercial production of polybag packed bitumen is expected to start shortly
